Mauricio Pochettino publicly tells linked-away £28.5m Chelsea player to ‘increase his level’
Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has given his verdict on Noni Madueke.
Pochettino has publicly said that Madueke needs to improve to get into the team.
So, what has Mauricio Pochettino said about Chelsea player Noni Madueke? Let’s take a look.
Mauricio Pochettino comments on Chelsea attacker Noni Madueke
Well, Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking about Noni Madueke, and he does not seem to be too happy with the youngster.
Pochettino has explained the reasons why Madueke is not getting much playing time at the moment.
The former Tottenham Hotspur head coach has openly said that the 21-year-old needs to step up his game.
Madueke, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, has been on the books of Chelsea since January 2023. He joined from PSV for £28.5 million ().

The England Under-21 international has made one start and substitute appearances in the league and has scored one goal in two Carabao Cup matches this season.
Pochettino told about Madueke: “From the beginning of the season he was involved then not involved and suffered some injuries and problems.
“Noni is in a position where there is massive competition and he needs to increase his level. He was injured and now recovered and maybe will be involved in the next games.”
Noni Madueke facing uncertain future
There is speculation on the future of Noni Madueke, and I would not be surprised if the former Tottenham Hotspur prospect leaves Chelsea, if not in the January transfer window then in the summer of 2024.
reported last week that Chelsea are ready to “sacrifice” Madueke to raise funds to bring in a new striker in January.
The report added that the 21-year-old himself is “seeking an exit from the club, in the hope of more minutes and the chance to make the senior England squad for the upcoming European Championship in Germany”.
Journalist Dean Jones has said that “there is certainly some genuine doubt around what is going to happen with” Madueke.
Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino publicly saying that Madueke needs to step up his game suggests that the former Spurs boss is not entirely happy with him.
