Maty Ryan and Granit Xhaka both react to news coming out of Arsenal yesterday

The 30-year-old goalkeeper’s move to Craven Cottage has been drawn out on the course of the transfer window.

However, the transfer has finally been done, and the German international could be set to start the season opener against Liverpool on Saturday, after leaving the Emirates Stadium yesterday.

Leno spent four seasons at Arsenal, becoming a popular figure within the squad and being Arsenal’s number one for his first three years in north London.

However, England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale stole his spot at the start of last season, and the Gunners have already replaced Leno as number two with American Matt Turner.

Ryan and Xhaka react to Leno news

“Hey Arsenal fans, it’s time to move for me. It’s been a pleasure to be part of this great football club for 4 amazing years.”

Several Arsenal stars, including Matty Ryan and Granit Xhaka replied to Leno’s emotional statement.

Leno is unlikely to be the last outgoing at The Emirates this summer, with several first team players expected to leave.

Defender Pablo Mari could be next out of the door, with several Serie A clubs keen to sign the Spaniard.

It also appears as though midfielder Lucas Torreira has played his final game for Arsenal, with the Uruguayan close to joining Galatasaray.

Leno will still aspire to join up with Germany for the World Cup in November, and wasn’t going to improve his chances by sitting on Arsenal’s bench.

He’s sure to have plenty to do at new club Fulham, with one of the world’s best attacks visiting the Cottage at the weekend.
