Matty Cash and Jacob Ramsey applaud Aston Villa talent after Walsall friendly
Aston Villa got off to a winning start in their first pre-season friendly of the summer earlier this week.
Unai Emery’s charges ran out 3-0 winners against Walsall at the Bescot Stadium on Wednesday night.
Aston Villa opened the scoring in the 21st minute as Ross Barkley’s free kick caught the Saddlers defence off-guard.
The allowed Morgan Rogers to run into the box and slot into the bottom-left corner of the net to get the Villans up and running.
Barkley and Rogers also combined for the second as Walsall failed to clear the former’s corner kick, allowing the latter to poke home on 36 minutes.
Louie Barry went on to score Villa’s third late on, tapping in from close range after being picked out by Samuel Iling-Junior.
All in all, it was a perfect start for the Villans as they look to get back up to speed following the close season.

Matty Cash and Jacob Ramsey applaud Aston Villa talent Morgan Rogers
Plenty of Villa players impressed on the night, with Rogers a clear stand-out for his two well-taken goals.
gave the 21-year-old a 9 out of 10 rating for his display, adding: “An excellent first half from the forward, who looks in tip-top condition already.”
Rogers took to Instagram on Thursday to express his delight at being back in action, which saw the likes of Barkley, Iling-Junior, Matty Cash and Jacob Ramsey respond.
