Mattia Destro could be a risk worth taking for goal-shy Newcastle
Newcastle United have struggled for goals for most of this season and that is something that could prove costly by the end of the season.
Last Saturday, Newcastle finally found their rhythm in front of goal, netting three times to comfortably cast aside Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City and leapfrog them in the table.
But this has papered over the cracks of a recurring problem since their return to the Premier League: Newcastle do not have a natural goal scorer.
With just 19 goals in 23 Premier League games, striker should be a priority during the January window.
Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez have worked well on occasions this season but a third striker is needed to compete for starting spots.

Joselu’s goal against Blackburn was his first since August and he needs to be replaced if possible. that Chinese side Tianjin Teda want him and Newcastle must take this offer.
Newcastle should take a gamble and replace Joselu with Mattia Destro. , Destro’s agent has flown to England to hold talks with Newcastle about a move.
The 27-year-old is out of favour at Serie A side Bologna, where he has failed to score in 10 outings this season.
But Newcastle will hope that Destro can rediscover his goal scoring touch in England, having previously impressed with Roma.
The 8-cap Italy international could be an upgrade on goal-shy striker Joselu and if he impresses in England, Newcastle will easily steer clear of the drop zone.
