Matthew Upson says 25-year-old Arsenal player is ‘on the money every time’

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice earned praise from BBC Sport pundit Matthew Upson during Tuesday night’s Champions League clash with Porto.

The Gunners summer signing is “on the money every time” when it comes to his deliveries from set pieces, according to Upson.

Rice has been a revelation since joining Arsenal from West H༒am United for a reported £105million fee last yea🌼r.

The 25-year-old once again playe♛d a crucial role for the Gunners as they edged past Porto on penalties after 120 gruelling minutes.

Rice didn’t have as much of a ch🥂ance to go ꦍforward as he has been doing in recent weeks, but as the No. 6, he provided good defensive cover.

Matthew Upson hails Arsenal star Declan Rice

Upson෴, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live during the game, predicted that the game could hinge on how well Porto would deal with Arsenal’s set𝓡 pieces.

H༒e also predicted that the Gunners’ expertise could be a deciding factor in the title race, earmarking Rice as one of the main threats.

“I think this game will quickly boil down to how well Porto deal with these Arsenal set pieces, how concentrated and organised they continue to﷽ be,” Upson said, as per .

“Arsenal are so goodꦓ at them this season, it could even end up being a factor in the title race. Declan🧸 Rice’s delivery is on the money every time.”

Wh✨ile many players need some time to get up to speed following a big move, Rice hit the ground running from the off and is only getting better and better for Arsenal.

Indeed, it’s getting to the point where the Gunners will probably feel they’ve got a bargain in Rice – for all of £105million – considering how ‘unbelievable‘ he has been.
