Matteo Guendouzi names the best player he ever played with at Arsenal, he was ‘amazing’
Matteo Guendouzi has now been lifting the lid on his time in north London and named the best Arsenal player he played alongside.
Guendouzi, who Mikel Arteta decided to sell in 2022, amassed 82 appearances with Arsenal and did lift an FA Cup during his time in England.

Now 24-years-old, it always felt as if there was a lot more to come from the Frenchman, who just didn’t feel like the right fit for Arteta’s ideas.
With seven caps for France during an incredibly competitive era for the national team, Guendouzi’s ability has never really been in question.
But perhaps his temperament did divide opinion at Arsenal when he was admittedly a less experienced player.
All that being said, Guendouzi has now been reflecting on that period of his career in England in an interview with .
The midfielder admitted that he made mistakes during his time with Arsenal, but said they made him into a better man and footballer.
And given he’s now been thriving in a key role for Lazio, the proof is in the pudding.

When reflecting on some of the good times at Arsenal, and there were a fair few, Guendouzi took a second to celebrate one of his former teammates, Mesut Ozil.
Recalling winning an FA Cup together, Guendouzi explained that he had learned so much from Ozil, who could see things that others couldn’t.

He said: “The next season we won the FA Cup. I was so young, I played a lot, I was very happy with this.
“I learnt a lot with great players. Mesut Ozil was the best, an amazing player with the ball — he sees things you would never see in your life.”
Of course, both Guendouzi and Ozil were both eventually let go by Mikel Arteta, who wanted to take the club in a new direction.
And given where Arsenal are today, it’s incredibly hard to argue with any decision Arteta has made.
All that being said, it seems as if Monday night’s performance also proved that selling Granit Xhaka wasn’t a mistake either.
