However, one man who may not agree with that is Ibrahima Konate.

The Frenchman arrived from RB Leipzig for back in May, but was left on the bench for the 3-0 win over Norwich.

With Van Dijk, Matip and Joe Gomez at Anfield, Konate surely wasn’t promised regular first-team football by Klopp.

Nevertheless, he’ll potentially be wondering where his playing time will come from after seeing Van Dijk and Matip click so effectively.
