Mateusz Bogusz and two other Leeds wonderkids who could make breakthrough this season

▨Since taking over at Leeds United in summer 2018, Marcelo Bielsa has used a number of youngsters in his first-team plans. Talented Leeds starlets like Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton have been promoted on a regular basis.

🍸This season, there will be a host of young players lining up to win a first-team spot. Knowing that Bielsa is not afraid to use his youth options, there are several players waiting in the wings. Here are three that we could see more of this season.

💫Mateusz Bogusz joined Leeds from Ruch Chorzow in January and he is already impressing. The 18-year-old was a key part of Bielsa’s pre-season plans but he is waiting for his first-team chance.

꧑The Poland U21 international plays in a variety of attacking midfield positions and can also play as a striker. He made his debut in the EFL Cup recently and he could make his league debut soon.

🔯Leeds currently have two strikers scrapping for the striker position. Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah are both scoring goals and pushing each other to become better players. But Ryan Edmonson is waiting in the wings should either suffer a dip in form or an injury.

⛦The 18-year-old is prolific at youth level and is currently playing for England’s U19 side. He will be hoping to add to his two senior appearances this season.

Pascal Struijk

🏅Leeds are lacking depth in central defence following the exits of Pontus Jansson and a number of youngsters. After Ben White and Liam Cooper, Pascal Struijk is one of the next in line.

✃The 20-year-old has performed at a high level for the youth team and deserves his chance if called upon. Leeds might need to give the Dutchman a promotion if there are injuries at the back.
