Reece James and Mason Mount rave about £150,000-a-week Chelsea star on Instagram
Chelsea welcomed back Christian Pulisic on Tuesday night as the Blues defeated Malmo in the Champions League. The Blues won the game 1-0 courtesy of an Hakim Ziyech strike. After the game, Pulisic received messages on Instagram from Mason Mount and Reece James.
It’s been a long road to recovery for Pulisic. In truth, he’s suffered chronically with injuries since becoming a Chelsea player in 2019. Thomas Tuchel will hope that he can now stay injury-free for the foreseeable.
Prior to Tuesday, Pulisic’s last game came in the 3-0 win over Crustal Palace. He scored in the game but was taken off after 82 minutes after taking a knock to his ankle.
That has kept him laid low for the season; although he now looks to be ready to help Chelsea through the long winter months, where fixtures come thick and fast.
Pulisic has made 80 appearances for the Blues. During his time in the senior ranks, the star has bagged himself 18 goals and registered 14 assists, typically operating as a No.10.
On Tuesday he was introduced for the final 16 minutes of a scrappy win over the Swedish whipping boys. Now, he will hope to kick on and get more game time under his belt.
What have Mount and James said about Chelsea star Pulisic?
The two England internationals are pretty much the poster boys for this current Chelsea team. Tuchel enjoys his time to have a young, vibrant feel, whilst maintaining defensive solidity.
Mount chose a five-word response to Pulisic, suggesting that his presence back in the side will be a huge help over the course of the 2021/22 campaign.
James has hit a bit of a purple patch just lately. He also opted for five words and suggested that Pulisic is still the player he was before injury cruelly struck him down once again.
