Martinelli reacts to Raphinha stunner on Instagram amid Arsenal links

Gabriel Martinelli was amongst those to laud Raphinha after the winger scored a screamer for Barcelona overnight – just a few weeks after he was linked with a move to join Martinelli at Arsenal.

Raphinha has made a stunning start to life at Barca following his . He quickly opened his account in the thrashing of Inter Miami. And he has now made a decisive impact in his first taste of El Clasico.

The Brazilian scored an incredible goal to settle the clash with Real Madrid on Saturday night. It was a stunning finish from the 25-year-old, who found the top corner with a thunderous attempt.

Of course, the goal may have been painful for Leeds fans to see. But it may have also left Arsenal supporters wondering what could have been.

It seemed that the Gunners were the first Premier League side to bid for Raphinha this summer. However, it was not anywhere near enough, with reports claiming that Mikel Arteta’s men offered less than £40 million for the attacker.

You would imagine that Arsenal would still like to sign another winger in the final weeks of the transfer window. They are yet to bring anyone else in in that area since failing to sign Raphinha.

And while that is the case, some Arsenal fans may look at Raphinha’s form and feel a little frustrated that they did not do more to get a deal done – even if his preference was always to go to Barcelona.
