Martinelli and Holding react on Instagram to Odegaard display for Arsenal
Martin Odegaard impressed his Arsenal teammates just as much as he impressed the supporters in their 3-0 win over Southampton, judging by the responses to his latest post on Instagram.
The Gunners got back to winning ways in impressive fashion on Saturday. Odegaard got Mikel Arteta’s side’s second, with Alexandre Lacazette and Gabriel Magalhaes also finding the back of the net.

Martin Odegaard outstanding for Arsenal again as Gunners beat Southampton
The result went some way to banish some of the frustration that emerged on Monday as Arsenal were beaten at Everton. Of course, on that occasion, Arsenal had opportunities to kill the game off before Everton bagged the late winner.
It was one of the more disappointing nights of Arteta’s tenure. But Odegaard emerged from that game as a shining light.
He broke the deadlock with a very impressive finish on the stroke of half-time. It was a superb cross from Kieran Tierney that presented the Norwegian with the opportunity to find the bottom corner at Goodison Park.

And once again, it was Tierney and Odegaard who linked up for Arsenal’s second on Saturday – albeit, in quite different circumstances.
This time around, Tierney managed to head the ball across the six-yard box after initially scuffing his attempt to play the ball in first time. And Odegaard reacted quickest and produced a brilliant leap to double the home side’s lead.
Odegaard appears to have turned a corner in recent times. He had initially struggled to make a significant impact following his permanent move to the Emirates.
‘What a player’
But he has now scored in his last three. And he looks to have a lot of confidence right now. He has certainly stepped up in the wake of Arsenal losing Emile Smith Rowe to injury.
Following the win over the Saints, Odegaard took to Instagram to express his delight at the win. He also paid tribute to Tierney…

And in response, plenty of teammates lauded the former Real Madrid man. The best replies perhaps came from Rob Holding and Gabriel Martinelli…
