Steven Gerrard’s arrival at Ibrox will come alongside several new signings to boost his new Rangers squad, and reports have suggested that he may look into his address book at an ex-team-mate to boost the ranks.
The indicate that they believe that central defender Martin Skrtel, currently in Turkey with Fenerbahce, could be top of his list as Gerrard looks to tempt him back to the British isles with a move to Rangers.
Given the mix of experience and youth in the team’s back-line, Skrtel could be the perfect addition to bring in the quality that the likes of Russell Martin and Bruno Alves can now only dream of.

At 36-years-old and struggling with injury more than ever this season, Bruno Alves’ days could be numbered under Gerrard, and Skrtel would represent the perfect upgrade with enough experience to help develop the likes of Ross McCrorie and Declan John alongside him at the back.
