TBR’s view – Where do Rangers need to make additions?
Gerrard’s 4-3-3 system means that midfielders Steven Davis, Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara, Joe Aribo and others are tasked with controlling the middle of the park in terms of possession – and stopping counter attacks.
It means the midfielders hardly get beyond the strikers and look to score themselves. A goalscoring midfielder should be targeted. Hagi alongside Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos is a strong front three.
James Tavernier is still very shaky in defence, though excellent going forward. That could be considered, as could another centre-back – with Filip Helander failing to become Connor Goldson’s permanent partner.
