Martin Keown says Tottenham defender did something that’s ‘not easy to do’ v Everton
Tottenham Hotspur are fully up and running in the Premier League as they ran out 4-0 winners over Everton in north London on Saturday.
Spurs were eager to make amends for their 1-1 draw at Leicester City, a game in which they could’ve won convincingly had they been less wasteful.
Ange Postecoglou’s charges did just that as they hammered a poor Toffees side that has now been routed in both of their league games so far.
Tottenham opened the scoring in the 14th minute as Yves Bissouma fired home from the edge of the box via the underside of the bar.
Spurs were then two to the good on 25 minutes thanks to a Jordan Pickford error, a heavy touch from a back pass which Son Heung-min duly slotted home.
Cristian Romero then added a third for the Lilywhites in the 71st minute, rising highest at a corner to nod home off the underside of the bar in his centenary club appearance.
Son then got his second of the game six minutes later, firing a simple finish through Pickford’s legs after great work from the marauding Micky van de Ven.

Martin Keown hails Tottenham defender Cristian Romero
BBC Sport pundit Martin Keown loved what he saw from Romero as he put Tottenham out of sight with their third of the match.
“Tottenham are having a great afternoon,” he said on Final Score, via the .
“Cristian Romero has got between the two Everton centre-halves, which is not easy to do as they are both great in the air. That goal puts the game out of sight.”
The £165,000-a-week defender () has now scored seven goals for Tottenham, as well as getting one assist, from 100 competitive games for the north Londoners.
What next for Tottenham?
Tottenham, who are now on four points from the opening two games of their Premier League campaign, are on the road next.
Postecoglou’s charges head to Newcastle United on Sunday 1 September in a 1:30pm kick-off.
