Martin Keown shares what Arsenal are now seriously in ‘danger’ of following Nottingham Forest draw

Arsenal have dropped yet more points as their pursuit of the Premier League title appears to be fizzling out.

The Gunners fell to 11 points behind Liverpool when they lost to West Ham at the weekend, while the Reds beat Manchester City.

Now, Arsenal are 13 points behind Liverpool, courtesy of the Gunners0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest and the Reds2-0 victory over Newcastle United.

Martin Keown, speaking after Arsenal’s stalemate at the City Ground, said the Gunners are now at risk of something worse than just not winning the title.

Martin Keown says Arsenal risk slipping out of the Premier League top four if they can’t score

Keown, speaking on TNT Sports, stressed that Arsenal cannot “throw it all awayjust because they’re now extremely unlikely to win the title.

The Gunners legend says Arsenal risk slipping out of the top four altogether if they don’t get back on the goalscoring trail.

“Just because you can’t be champions doesn’t mean that you throw it all away, said Keown.

“If they don’t score goals there is a danger that they might slip out of the top four.

“Tonight when you come away with a point you think that is important because it means Forest don’t get any closer to catching them.

“Rest, recover and then they are away to Manchester United, and they must win./p>

Keown’s brutal verdict on why it didn’t happen for Arsenal at Nottingham Forest

Keown admitted that Arsenal’s front three of Leandro Trossard, Mikel Merino and Ethan Nwaneri has really weakened the team.

As a result, the Gunners simply couldn’t get through the solid Forest back line, even if the visitors were well-drilled at the back themselves.

“It didn’t happen for Arsenal tonight because they had Leandro Trossard, Mikel Merino and a teenager in Ethan Nwaneri playing as the front three and that has crippled the team, said Keown.

“Throughout the team they looked solid, defended really well and it was a solid contest.

“They took the game to Forest with 65 percent possession but they could not find the solutions at the top of the team.

“I think with the options that they have been left to pick from that is no surprise in the end./p>
