He returned to the starting line-up on Saturday, and assisted both goals in Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Everton.

, and given his age and international pedigree, Villa would likely demand a large fee if he were to leave, even if he was to ha𒁏nd in a transf🌠er request.

Watkins has already been impressed by Leeds

However, Watkins has previous spoken about his admiration for the way Leeds play, and their former coach M🧸arcelo Bielsa. “I watched the Leeds documentary. When players like Ander Herrera when he was at Manchester United was saying he’s best manager he’s h🌳ad, you’ve got to believe him really,”

“The job he’s done at Leeds, the intensity of the players, defini♎tely when we played against them, they were fit, they didn’t stop running, they were always moving, I think it’s a different Leeds to the one we’ve seen in the previous three or four years. He’s obviously doing a good job.”

It would be an interesting move for Watkins to swap Villa for Leeds this summer.

Both clubs finished in the bot🃏tom half of the Premier League this season, and have dipped into the transfer market to improve🌱 their squad this summer.

Leeds have been looking to sign a striker this summer, and have failed in attempts to sign Charles de Ketelaere and Arnaud Kalimuendo.

Watkins is already ahead of Patrick Bamford in the peck꧋ing order for England, and it would be a blow to Bamford’s World Cup hopes if Watkins were to make the switch.

He would certainly strengthen the Leeds side, especially as Jesse Marsch lost Bamford to injury again at the weekend, .

Rodrigo stepped up in his place, and his brace put Leeds 🔴2-0 ahead before Southampton scored t𒀰wice in the second half to share the spoils.

Given his performance at Villa Park on Saturday, Steven Gerrard is unlikely to🐟 want to let Watkins leave any time soon, but if the player is unhappy, Leeds could do a lot worse than to try and bring Watkins in.
