According to reports, Steven Gerrard is looking at former rivals Everton in order to bring in a new player in January. The player in question is England under-21 star Kieran Dowell.
that the Everton star is wanted on loan until the end of the season. Dowell is highly-rated at Goodison Park, but with Gylfi Sigurdsson dominating his favoured playmaker position, he is struggling for regular first team football.

One former Rangers man knows all about the player. Last season Dowell was out on loan at Nottingham Forest. It was the former Ibrox boss Mark Warburton who took him to the City Ground.
Dowell thrived under the Englishman. After an impressive hat-trick against Hull City in October last year, the then Forest boss had this to say about the player…
“I’ve no doubt Kieran will have dips. There will be bad days and good days.
“That’s why Premier League clubs send players out on loan. I refer back to when Alex Pritchard came to Brentford from Tottenham.
“He played 44 of 46 games. That’s Kieran. He wants to play every game…“That’s the beauty of Kieran Dowell. He learns from mistakes and gets better.”
However, Dowell’s form was patchy and when Aitor Karanka took over he fell out of first-team contention. But he remains an incredible talent and one which could give Rangers a real goalscoring threat from midfield. There is no doubt he could have a similar impact at Ibrox as Ryan Christie has over at Parkhead.
If he could perform at a similar level under Gerrard, as he did under Warburton, then Rangers would be bringing in a brilliant option to help them in their title push.
