Mark Lawrenson predicts Leeds vs Everton result
Mark Lawrenson that he expects Leeds United to produce a big response to their opening day defeat and beat Everton at Elland Road.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side currently sit bottom of the Premier League. A brutal second-half at Old Trafford led to the Whites suffering a 5-1 loss.

Everton meanwhile, recovered from going a goal down to beat Southampton 3-1 at Goodison Park. It was an incredibly promising start for Rafa Benitez on Merseyside.
Nevertheless, Lawrenson believes that Leeds will prove a point against the Toffees.

“I am presuming Kalvin Phillips will return to Leeds’ starting line-up after missing their heavy defeat at Manchester United – they need him back in their midfield as soon as possible anyhow,” , as he predicted a 2-0 win for Leeds.
“Everton had a very different day last time out, fighting back to beat Southampton, but I am expecting a big response from Leeds, especially at a full Elland Road.”
Leeds vs Everton: Kalvin Phillips will surely start for Whites
Kalvin Phillips playing against Manchester United may not have changed the outcome last Saturday. After all, he was involved in their loss at the same ground last season.
But it does look to be imperative that he does start against Everton.
He is the fulcrum of Bielsa’s side. Leeds are certainly stronger defensively with the 25-year-old out on the pitch. And his presence frees up those ahead of him.
It will provide a huge lift if Phillips is back, as will the return of supporters.
If Leeds can get off to a strong start and give the fans something to cheer about, Everton may indeed struggle to contain Bielsa’s side.
