Mark Lawrenson has insisted that Leeds United have not played badly lately as he backed Marcelo Bielsa’s side to beat Chelsea 2-1 at Elland Road on Saturday, .
On paper, an away win looks to be a safe bet. The Blues are unbeaten since Thomas Tuchel was appointed earlier this year and they are now inside the top four.

Leeds meanwhile, have lost four of their last five and are now three points off the top-half of the table.
Lawrenson however, has suggested that their results do not tell the entire story of their recent form. And he has backed Leeds to spring a surprise when the pair meet on Saturday.

“Chelsea are going great guns – they are now unbeaten in 11 games since Thomas Tuchel took charge, and they were just too good for Everton on Monday night,” , as he predicted a 2-1 win for the home side.
“Leeds, in contrast, have not been on a great run of form recently, with just one win in five league games. I don’t think they’ve been playing that badly though, and they will definitely test Chelsea’s improved defence.”
The Whites have certainly performed better than their results would suggest. They threatened to give Arsenal a good scare after a calamitous first-half at the Emirates.
They also created enough chances to beat Wolves and West Ham. Their only poor display in the recent run came against Aston Villa.
Three of those sides currently surround Leeds in the table. The Hammers meanwhile, are fifth. So they have also faced strong opposition.
But Chelsea are playing with a lot of confidence right now. So it would be a major statement if Leeds can secure a positive result.
