‘I just don’t see it’: Mark Lawrenson predicts Everton v Liverpool; expects two goals
Mark Lawrenson has told that he expects tonight’s Merseyside derby to have more spice than usual as Liverpool travel to Everton.
He believes that due to Virgil van Dijk’s injury last season, the atmosphere will crank up a notch at Goodison Park this evening.
Liverpool head into the game on the back of an impressive showing against Southampton at the weekend. They won 4-0 with a rampant display.
For Everton, it was another drab weekend. They were beaten 1-0 at Brentford and were booed off by the away supporters after failing to even look like scoring!

There will be an added incentive for Everton. Rafa Benitez was always facing a battle to prove himself at Goodison Park given his Liverpool ties in the past.
The Spaniard won the Champions League with Liverpool and naturally, his move to Everton wasn’t met with glee by plenty of their supporters.
Lawrenson expects Liverpool to get the win tonight.
“This was the game where Virgil van Dijk got injured last season. So if it’s possible to have any more spice than normal, Wednesday will be it.
“Liverpool have to be favourites. I can’t see them creating chances without taking some of them. They’re flying.
“Benitez will be hoping his defensive block will hold out, but I don’t see it – especially when Everton have so little to offer at the other end.”
Liverpool must stick to trusted principles against Everton
It’s easy for teams to take derby-day clashes with caution but that shouldn’t be the order of the day tonight.
Liverpool have been steamrolling teams, scoring eight goals in their last two Premier League games.

If they stick to their guns tonight and simply play their normal game then they should defeat Everton at a cater.
The front three of Mo Salah, Diogo Jota and Sadio Made is formidable and they could be capable of goals galore at Goodison Park.
