Mark Lawrenson insists there will be more to come from Jesse Lingered at West Ham
Mark Lawrenson has excitedly predicted that there will be more to come from West Ham’s Jesse Lingard, who massively impressed him on Tuesday night.
Lingard, who recently joined the Hammers on loan from Manchester United, made his West Ham debut earlier in the week.
The 28-year-old scored twice in a 3-1 victory against Aston Villa, as he made himself an instant favourite with supporters at the London Stadium.
He’s a player that has spent the majority of this season sat on the sidelines watching at Old Trafford, but he didn’t look rusty in the slightest with an eye-catching 90 minute display against Villa.
BBC pundit Lawrenson hailed Lingard for his West Ham display and feels it’s just the start.
“New loan signing Jesse Lingard made an instant impression with his two goals in that game [against Villa], and he has clearly been training hard and looked really sharp despite hardly playing for Manchester United this season. There will be more to come from him, I’m sure,” .

TBR’s View:
Lingard will turn out to be a genius loan signing for West Ham if his debut is anything to go by, but it’s still too early to tell realistically.
He slotted straight into the number 10 position, where he was helping to dictate play and create chances around the edge of the box.
The attacking midfielder will take huge confidence from his two-goal display and it looks like the 24-time capped England international can add even more dynamism to the team going forward.
With West Ham sat fifth in the league table right now, there is huge positivity around the club right now.
