Mark Lawrenson hammers one Liverpool player for display against Burnley

Liverpool have now gone five Premier League games without a win, drawing three and losing twice to Southampton and Burnley. They have failed to score a goal in the league in their last four matches, even with Divock Origi going clean through.
The Belgian crashed an effort against the bar, while Nick Pope made numerous other saves. Ben Mee and James Tarkowski were excellent in the middle of the defence, as Ashley Barnes won and scored a penalty to nick all three points.
Liverpool have slipped into fourth place in the Premier League and could be overtaken by Tottenham and Everton, if they win their games in hand. Liverpool legend Lawrenson criticised the £40,000-a-week star ().
“Trent Alexander-Arnold just hasn’t been in it tonight. His passing, his movement, it just hasn’t been there,” Lawrenson said.

With Virgil van Dijk aand Joe Gomez at centre-back, and the defensive shield of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in midfield, Alexander-Arnold is given full license to get forward and swing balls into the penalty area.
He is a lethal tool in Liverpool’s arsenal. But when that centre-back shield is replaced by Henderson and Fabinho, meaning the midfield cover is also taken away, Alexander-Arnold is unsure whether to sit back and defender or get forward.
He is caught in between and that has shown, failing to prove as effective. Only when van Dijk and Gomez return will Alexander-Arnold rediscover his best form.
