Mario Hermoso sends four-word message to Newcastle star on Instagram

Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier delivered an absolutely superb performance for the Magpies on Tuesday night.

The England international helped Newcastle record a second successive Premier League victory and climb out of the bottom three.

Against Everton, Trippier won everything that came his way and made sure of all three points with a superb goal to put the opposition out of reach.

The 31-year-old curled a sensational effort from 25 yards out into the bottom right-hand corner to make it 3-1.

It was his first goal in black-and-white – an amazing effort and a massively important one too.

In addition, Trippier lifted his side after conceding first, and played through the pain barrier before limping off in injury time.

On Wednesday, the defender took to Instagram with a reel of his goal and celebration, as well as a message for the Newcastle fanbase:

Amongst those commenting was former Atletico Madrid colleague Mario Hermoso, who wrote “what a goal bro”.

Hermoso is a regular for Atletico, having made 90 appearances overall and 29 this season.

The 26-year-old centre-back has also won five caps for Spain.

Hermoso hasn’t been linked with Newcastle, but he’d certainly be a good shout for the Magpies.

He’s a top defender, knows Trippier well, and Newcastle could certainly do with another centre-back in the summer.
