Marco Silva has to improve Everton defender Lucas Digne defensively

Everton defender Lucas Digne has been recalled to the France squad since his nation won the World Cup and completed 90 minutes in the 2-0 Nations League defeat to the Netherlands on Friday.

The 25-year-old is back in the international fold, but suffered a blip with a below par display in the last match.

He turned in a poor defensive performance, where he was caught out of position on a number of occasions and looked more focused on supporting the attack.

The left-back has been popular at Goodiosn Park since his £18million signing () from Barcelona in the summer and he brilliant traits to make a difference going forward.

But Everton manager Marco Silva may have work to do to make him better in his own half.

Digne is a speed machine that loves to bomb forward and his overlapping runs on the left flank are a real weapon, which is not something Silva needs to remove from his game.

But adding some extra defensive steel would be a real help and the ex-Barcelona ace is still adjusting to the Premier League.

Digne will be walked all over by Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the Merseyside clash on 2 December if he is caught up the field and that is the type of game he will need to sit in resiliently.
