Marcelo Bielsa provides injury update on Leeds United trio

Marcelo Bielsa has suggested that Leeds United pair Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton will return to training next week, but there is no fresh update on Adam Forshaw, .

The trio have been rarely seen since the most recent international break. Roberts and Shackleton have not featured since the win at Reading last month.

Forshaw meanwhile, has not played since the defeat at Charlton back in September. The lack of clarity surrounding how long the midfielder is set to be absent for has left a number of fans feeling extremely concerned.

And unfortunately for those worried supporters, Bielsa provided another disappointing update on Forshaw. He did however, have much better news on Roberts and Shackleton.

“Tyler is healthy, as is Shackleton, but with Forshaw there is no information so far,” he said, . “They [Roberts and Shackleton] will return to training next week.”

It will be a big boost for Leeds to have Roberts and Shackleton back in the near future. Roberts’s form hinted that he was ready to play a big part in the club’s season.

Shackleton meanwhile, has impressed whenever he has played for the first-team. And it would be no surprise if he was playing regularly by the campaign concludes. It is difficult however, to predict in what position the academy graduate will be playing in. And much will depend on whether he can stay fit for a prolonged period.

It is obviously worrying that Forshaw seemingly remains no closer to returning. His form before his absence began was the best of his Leeds career to date.

And the lengthy absence is all more frustrating because it remains unclear when he will be back.
