Marcelo Bielsa impressed by personality of Leeds youngster Jamie Shackleton
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has claimed that Jamie Shackleton has had a positive impact whenever he’s involved in the first-team, after he impressed in the club’s previous match.
The Whites midfielder is a highly-rated product to come through the academy at Elland Road and he was used as a first-half substitute in the recent Premier League win over Aston Villa.
He is an all-action central midfielder that slotted in superbly well during that league contest to help secure three points.
The English youngster has played just three first-team games across all competitions this season, but there are plenty who are hopeful he gets a chance on Monday night in the league fixture at home to Leicester City.
Bielsa has given a glowing verdict on Shackleton during a pre-match press conference:
“In the case of Shackleton he’s played in the first team before and every time he has played, he has played with personality and done a good job,”

TBR’s View:
With Leeds talisman Kalvin Phillips currently sidelined through injury, there is no reason why Shackleton can’t be pushing for more regular game time and his recent performance did his chances no harm.
He received his chance to play 70 minutes against Villa when he replaced Pascal Struijk in the centre of the park, who had picked up a yellow card and was treading a fine line after a couple of tackles that followed.
Shackleton stepped in well to the side last season in the Championship whenever needed and he’s got the relentless work-rate to match Bielsa’s system.

, Nigel Martyn has exclusively claimed that he would back any move the Whites made to sign Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell in the summer – and compared Ben White to Robin Koch.
