Marcelo Bielsa delivers injury update on three Leeds players
as saying that Jack Clarke will play for the Under-23 side on Thursday night before deciding whether to include him in the squad to take on Sheffield United on Saturday.
Clarke, 18, is in the final stages of recovery from the virus that saw him stretchered off and rushed to hospital. He played for the Under-23’s in the 4-0 win over Charlton on Monday, missing a penalty.
Bielsa confirmed that the talented winger will be involved against Fulham on Thursday night. The game will take place at Guiseley’s Nethemoor Park.
The Argentine boss also divulged an update on injured duo Kemar Roofe and Adam Forshaw, who are both suffering from knee injuries. He gave a very positive news about both players, stating they are in the “final stages of recovery”.

“They [Roofe and Forshaw] are evolving,” “They are in the final stages of their recovery but I can’t say anymore on that. He [Clarke] is going to play today [against Fulham’s Under-23 side]. We’ll see how he assimilates the game and I’ll take a decision after that.”

Having Clarke back in the 18-man squad will be a huge boost. His ability to change a game from the bench is more than evident, having come off the bench against Sheffield United in the reverse fixture to supply the assist for Pablo Hernandez.
He also scored and started the revival against Aston Villa in the 3-2 win. Having him as an option is crucial.
Meanwhile, Roofe and Forshaw’s update is also an excellent boost. Though both players may struggle to regain their place, having everyone available in the promotion run-in is absolutely key.
