Marcelo Bielsa confirms Leeds defneder won’t play against West Brom
Leeds United will be without Diego Llorente for the final game of the Premier League season this Sunday.
The Whites wrap up their league campaign at home to West Brom this weekend, where there will be a reduced crowd in at Elland Road to celebrate a superb first year back in the to flight.
Marcelo Bielsa’ side are 10th in the division standings guaranteed of a top half finish, and could place even higher depending on results on the final day.
Leeds boss Bielsa has confirmed that Spanish defender Llorente won’t be playing against West Brom.
The 27-year-old came off at half time during the previous match in the win against Southampton after feeling a muscle problem, and won’t be risked on Sunday.
“Llorente is not with us. Throughout the first half against Southampton, he felt something in his muscle that had he continued, he could have got injured where he got injured before. That’s why we decided that he should not participate in the second half of that game nor on Sunday,” Bielsa .

TBR’s View:
Llorente has had a stop-start first year in English football since his transfer to Leeds from Real Sociedad last summer, but supporters have seen in the last months how much quality he has.
The ball-playing centre-back has stayed fit during the recent months, and during that time has nailed down a starting position.
If you look at the games he’s played in, there can be a strong case made that he’s been one of the team’s outstanding individuals with his consistent defensive performances.
The Spain international is someone that Leeds can built their side around next year if he avoids injuries, so the best is definitely still to come from him.
