Marc Guehi says £22m talent wanted by Arsenal and Tottenham is a ‘really top player’
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur may not be evenly matched in the Premier League this season, but they are likely to be in direct competition in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have been in Premier League title contention for the past few years, while Tottenham are in pursuit of getting back into the top four amid a rebuilding job.
One player Arsenal have set their sights on is Adam Wharton, who has been a revelation for Crystal Palace since joining last year. Arsenal fans would certainly like to sign Wharton.
However, Tottenham are also keen on Wharton, having held internal talks over making a move for the 21-year-old midfielder, who Palace reportedly paid £22million for.
Palace teammate Marc Guehi has shared what Wharton is like behind the scenes as he ranked him among the best players at Selhurst Park.

Marc Guehi says Adam Wharton is ‘very laidback’ and ‘really nice’
Guehi was the latest guest on Sky Sports show The Sticker Book Challenge, where he was asked about a number of his peers from past and present.
One of the sections was called Skill Swap, where he discussed which key traits from teammates he would like to also have in his repertoire.
Guehi had to pick between Maxence Lacroix’s speed, Wharton’s passing, Eberechi Eze’s skills and Jean-Philippe Mateta’s strength.
Of Wharton, he said: “Adam’s passing… Adam is again similar to like Ebs (Eze), very laidback guy, really nice guy.
“But on the ball, unbelievable. His vision, his ability to find that last pass, yeah he’s a really top player.”
Guehi would have picked Eze’s skills, but he acknowledged he wouldn’t have much use for them as a defender, so he ultimately opted for Lacroix’s speed.
Other midfielders Arsenal and Tottenham are monitoring
According to information from TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, Arsenal do like Wharton, but there isn’t advanced interest at this stage.
Arsenal are considering their midfield options and also hold interest in Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham, although they may be more inclined to go for teammate Chris Rigg.
Out of all three players, Wharton is the only one who’s proven in the Premier League, but that could mean his price tag will be a lot higher.
Meanwhile, Tottenham reportedly remain keen on Southampton’s Tyler Dibling and are expected to make a move to sign him too along with Wharton.
In addition, Manchester United are also said to be keen on Wharton, so there’s likely to be a lot of competition for his services.
