Manuel Pellegrini’s agent speaks up about potential Fenerbahce move

Manuel Pellegrini has been out of work since getting the boot from West Ham United in December. The Chilean was sacked after a run of nine losses in 12 games and the club swiftly replaced him with former boss David Moyes.

Of course, Pellegrini remains a well-regarded name in football because of his excellent previous work with the likes of Villarreal, Malaga and Manchester City.

Now, his agent has been discussing his potential next movein Turkey.

It appears that he may be on his way to Turkey. Pellegrini has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce in recent weeks and now his agent, Jesus Martinez, has confirmed Pellegrini thinks highly of Fenerbahce and would be interested in taking over the Turkish side.

“The epidemic that we are in right now is not the best time to talk about going to Fenerbahçe. But it is a fact that Mr. Pellegrini thinks Fenerbahce is a magnificent and historical club. I can’t say anything more, but Fenerbahce is a great club.”

Fenerbahce are currently without a manager after sacking Ersun Yanal in March and are currently going through a rough patch. Before the postponement of football due to the global health crisis, Fener were seventh in the Turkish Super Lig. Last season, after flirting with a relegation battle, they finished sixth.

It seems the former West Ham man is slowly emerging as the number one candidate to take over once football has returned and he will hope to have a more positive impact in Istanbul then he did in the last few months at West Ham.
