Manuel Pellegrini should plot Stevan Jovetic return at West Ham
Manuel Pellegrini has been tasked with bringing attacking and progressive football back to West Ham next term, with fans bemoaning the style of play under recent managers. And he will look to the summer transfer window to bring in top quality talent capable of ushering in what he hopes will be his dynasty in east London.
Pellegrini will want an added goalscorer in the ranks at the London Stadium, whether top-scorer , as the side were seriously lacking attacking depth last season, with the likes of Andy Carroll now seemingly on borrowed time.
The Chilean coach should look to reunite with his former Manchester City super-sub Stevan Jovetic this summer, after signing him to the Premier League champions back in 2013/14.

Jovetic has shown he hasn’t lost his clinical edge, bagging 10 goals and three assists in just 21 appearances, although he has failed to fully cement himself as Monaco’s first team striker with known injury problems persisting throughout the season.
However, the risk is worth taking for Pellegrini. Jovetic would be something of a marquee signing at West Ham and would instantly bring an air of excitement among the support, that’s been largely absent since the departure of Dimitri Payet in 2016/17.
With the current names touted for potential moves to the Hammers this summer, most notably; , , and , the club could be an entirely different animal in the near future and could begin setting loftier targets.

There’s no doubting the club belongs at higher levels, and Jovetic’s presence would bolster their chances of achieving bigger ambitions. Having joined Monaco for £9 million last summer, it’s likely Pellegrini could engineer a bargain for the 27-year-old also, as rival teams continue spending well above on lesser players.
