Manuel Pellegrini accepts he could lose his job after Southampton match this weekend

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has accepted that he may be relieved of his duties after the game against Southampton this weekend.

As per the , Pellegrini admitted how precarious his situation is ahead of the match against the side they sit two places and one point above in the Premier League table.

He : “What I really need is to win the game but maybe I’m not in my job on Monday. That’s not a problem of the job.

“The problem is to try to improve what you’re doing because we don’t have the results and of course for many years in this profession having just five points from this many games [10] is not good enough.”

TBR’s View – Relegation six-pointer could be final straw for Pellegrini

Southampton haven’t had a great season but they have picked up home wins over other struggling sides of late and will understand the importance of doing so again here.

West Ham are flaky at present and will need to pull out another performance like the one at Stamford Bridge to prove the players are still working for their under-fire manager.

Otherwise, Pellegrini knows he faces the bullet before the turgid run goes on any longer.
