Manchester Untied were linked in 2018, would Erling Braut Haaland give up Leeds ‘dream’ for Solskjaer reunion?
Leeds United fans were left fairly happy by events in the Champions League on Tuesday night. Leeds-born striker Erling Braut Haaland scored a hat-trick for Red Bull Salzburg as the Austrians thrashed Genk 6-2.
The 19-year-old is the son of former Leeds utility player Alfe Inge Haaland and fans of Leeds have been following him for some time.
Indeed, when it comes to fantasy booking, many Leeds fans see Haaland playing at Elland Road in the future. The player himself admitted this was his ‘dream’ in a 2017
“I want to be the best. The dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds.”
Leeds, currently, would have little chance of affording the player or luring him away from a Champions League club. Unfortunately, their big rivals Manchester United probably could. It also seems, that they are interested.
Manchester United were scouting the then Molde striker. He eventually made the move to Austrian football instead.

But with Manchester United now looking to bring in young talent to grow that interest is being discussed on social media, with plenty of fans wanting it to be reignited.
The Red Devils would also have a major advantage in any chase for the player. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was Haaland’s former manager at Molde and is now in charge at Old Trafford.
Solskjaer himself admitted that Haaland might not be keen on a United move last summer, . Those Leeds connections run deep.
“He is probably not the biggest Manchester United fan in the world, but if they come knocking on the door, not many people say no.”
However, if his former boss comes calling asking him to be a future star striker at Manchester United, that dream with Leeds United might suddenly become less appealing.
