Report: Newcastle and Tottenham told they can sign ‘incredible’ international for £40m this summer

That figure might be enough to deter onlooking admires, who include Newcastle and Tottenham. Further, newly promoted Fulham are also said to be keen on Henderson.

Henderson has Premier League and international experience under his belt already. He was a star man for Sheffield United as the Blades finished ninth in the 19/20 season. But since then, despite getting his chance at Old Trafford, injuries and De Gea’s form have stalled his progress.

And with a World Cup around the corner in December this year, Henderson could be open to moving on.

The importance of getting a good goalkeeper can never be understated and that’s exactly what both Tottenham and Newcastle will be thinking here.

The reality is that Henderson has over a decade at the top level left if he wants it. We already know he’s good enough from his time with Sheffield United. Now, it’s just a case of finding a home where he’ll be number one again.

Henderson should probably have kicked on and done better with Man United. But that is a huge stage, and any slight mistake – and he made a few – is pounced up. A move this summer seems sensible, and both Spurs and Newcastle would be good fits for him.
