Michael Clegg backing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for Manchester United job ahead of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino
Former Manchester United man Michael Clegg has raised doubts over Mauricio Pochettino becoming the club’s next manager.
the ex-defender has instead thrown his weight behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer getting the job on a full-time basis.
The Norwegian has won nine of his 10 matches in all competitions; with Clegg of the belief that he is a more suitable candidate than Pochettino.
The Spurs boss has been viewed as the main frontrunner by plenty of United fans, but Clegg begs to differ.
United have looked like a completely different team under the stewardship of the ‘Baby Faced Assassin’.
The man who netted 91 goals in 235 appearances as a player for United is doing his chances of getting the permanent gig at Old Trafford no harm at all.

Clegg featured nine times for the Red Devils between 1995 and 2002 and he believes that United should look no further than Solskjaer.
Pochettino recently saw his Spurs side crash out of two cup competitions in four days.
His attitude towards those defeats is just one of the things that doesn’t sit right with Clegg when it comes to him being the next United boss.
“Look at Pochettino, he’s just lost two games on the bounce in the cup and he’s quite blasé about it as though cups aren’t important and he says things don’t ring true.
“It doesn’t sound like the United way. There’s nothing better as a United fan and going for a day out to Wembley to go and win a cup.
“We made a good choice with Ole. He’s got the vibe right. Winning trophies is what it’s about.
“When teams want to come fourth, they are being influenced by the top down, not the fans.”
United are still vying for the FA Cup and the Champions League.
Progression in both of those competitions will undoubtedly enhance Solskjaer’s full-time prospects at the Theatre of Dreams.
