Manchester United star and Liam Palmer send messages to Celtic ace on Instagram

Greg Taylor was finally handed his Celtic debut on Wednesday night as the Scottish champions cruised past newly-promoted St. Mirren with a 2-0 win – prompting reaction from Scotland teammates Scott McTominay and Liam Palmer.

Scotland international Taylor, 21, joined Celtic in the summer from Scottish Premiership rivals Kilmarnock as Neil Lennon looked to replace the loss of Kieran Tierney – who has already caught praise from Arsenal fans following his £25million move.

Boli Bolingoli has been first choice following his £3million move from Rapid Vienna, playing 21 of the 24 league and cup matches he has been available for. But Taylor was finally given the nod on Wednesday night, as Bolingoli was rested.

The former Kilmarnock man impressed on the left side. Given his age, Taylor already has enormous experience after clocking up 130 senior outings for Killie and that is evident in his mature, measured approach. He posted on Instagram after his debut.

The win keeps Celtic on top of the Scottish Premiership pile by goal difference, as James Forrest and Mo Elyounoussi found the back of the net to win 2-0. Rangers, though, kept the pressure on, with a 4-0 win over Ross County.

Manchester United star McTominay responded, as did Sheffield Wednesday star Palmer. Both of Taylor’s Scotland teammates congratulated the young defender, while Taylor will be hoping he can make it two on Saturday against Hibernian.
