Manchester United signing ‘extraordinary’ player this month is ‘virtually impossible’
Manchester United’s chances of signing Karim Benzema this month has been described as ‘virtually impossible’.
The Ballon d’Or winner is rumoured to be looking for a way out of Saudi Arabia in this window, and his name has been making the rounds over the last few days. Dean Jones, however, says he will not join Manchester United.

Karim Benzema to Manchester United is ‘virtually impossible’
Karim Benzema‘s name has come up a lot over the last few days on social media.
The Frenchman is not having a great time at Al-Ittihad, who have won just two of their last 11 league games. Fans have even reportedly turned on him, even though his numbers look good – 12 goals and five assists in 20 games.
That has led to calls from many fans for their clubs to get Benzema on a six-month loan deal, but Ben Jacobs claimed a few days ago that Manchester United would struggle to sign him this month.
Now, Dean Jones has delivered a similar verdict on .
He said: “It’s a nice narrative to be opening up in a window that’s been pretty dead so far. To have a player like Karim Benzema, potentially trying to push for a move definitely is a reason for excitement, especially if you’re a fan.
“Let’s be honest, I mean, if you’re a Man United fan who thinks that Benzema might land at Old Trafford then I’m afraid you’re mistaken.
“It’s virtually impossible that United are going to sign a striker of such calibre and value in this window.”

Manchester United should not sign Benzema
When you’re a side struggling for goals, the prospect of signing a Ballon d’Or-winning forward can be really tempting. However, Karim Benzema is not the answer for Manchester United.
The Frenchman is 36 years old already. As ‘‘ as he is, he’s definitely not at the age where a Premier League club should be putting their faith in him, especially considering he has never played in England before.
More importantly, Rasmus Hojlund looks like he’s settling in. He has scored in each of his last two Premier League appearances, and his performances have been really good too.
Bringing Benzema in now could really hurt Hojlund’s confidence, and that is the last thing Manchester United should be doing.
