The Liverpool man joined Newcastle from PSV before signing for the Reds. Locadia suggested he would use a club as a stepping stone to display his ability, in the hope of sealing a transfer to the Red Devils.

At the other end of the field, United are said to be interested in bringing Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to the club. The reported that both Jose Mourinho’s side and Liverpool have been told that the Danish shot-stopper will cost them £50 million.

Schmeichel has family links to United, having grown up with his dad undergoing a successful period as their number one. After impressing for Leicester over the past few seasons, he could be ready to make the move north and follow in his dad’s footsteps.
