Manchester United round-up: Javier Hernandez could return; Michael Keane deal still on; Luke Shaw future unclear

The  have sensati🌊onally claimed that Jose Mourinho is investigating the possibility of bringing striker Javier Hernandez back to Old Trafford, having been sold for £7.3 million to Bayer Leverkusen by Louis Van Gaal in 2015. The Mexican’s contract in Germany is set to expire next summer and so may be available cheaply.

After scoring 12 goals in 34 games to date this season, the 28-year-old is exactly the kind of goal poacher that United are lackin🌳g and would be warmly welcomed back to the club where he was previously a popular option with the fans before his departure.

Another player could make a return as the  also report that the club are still leading the race for Burnley centre-back Michael Keane despite rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool for a reported £25 million. They sugge🙈st that United remain the main contenders to bring the England international back to Manchester.

Given that he left the club for just £2 million two and a half years ago, it could be frustr༺ating for Jose Mourinho and co. to splash out on the 24-year-old, but a 25% sell on fee would effectively slash the price that Burnley would demand, meaning they could secure his signature for over £6 million less than the likes of Liverpool.

Back in Manchester, Luke Shaw’s future is𒉰 also up in the air due to his ankle ligament injury which could jeopardise a move away from the club, according to the , as it is set to keep him out until at leas❀t the start of the season. The left-back has made just two Premier League starts since September after speculation of a fall out with Jose Mourinho.

It did seem almost certain that Shaw would😼 look for a move to ensure that he does n🧔ot lose his place in the England squad and see his career drift into insignificance, but with this latest injury it may scare off any potential suitors.
