Arsenal will have to see off competition from Manchester United if they hope to sign Martin Zubimendi in the summer transfer window.
Martin Zubimendi is attracting attention after a superb spell at Real Sociedad. Zubimendi apparently rejected the chance to join Arsenal last January.
According to , Mikel Arteta has put the 24-year-old at the top of his list of midfield targets, with Douglas Luiz and Amadou Onana.

Zubimendi has no interest in leaving Sociedad in this window. They have the knockout stages of the Champions League to look forward to in the second-half of the season.

Gunners surely on pole position
Based on this season, you would have to say that Zubimendi would be better off joining Arsenal over Manchester United.
It has been an underwhelming time for the Gunners. But they are very much in the title picture in the Premier League. And they also remain in the Champions League.
They have become one of the best teams in the division. And it does appear that United are a long way off reaching that level again, with Erik ten Hag’s side eight points back having played a game more.
There is an opportunity for a midfielder to come in and make themselves a key part of ten Hag’s side. Kobbie Mainoo has been excellent. But he is still very young, so will need time.
Perhaps the amount of game-time they can offer will help their cause. But Arsenal will surely feel confident about their chances of winning the race.
