Manchester United now fear ‘incredible’ player will reject move to Old Trafford due to his family
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are interested in signing Archie Gray from Daniel Farke’s Leeds United.
That is according to Football Transfers, which has noted what Manchester United really think about a potential move.
So, what has been reported about Manchester United, Leeds United and Archie Gray? Let’s take a look.
Manchester United concerns over Leeds United star Archie Gray
Well, according to , Manchester United are interested in signing Archie Gray from Leeds United.
The report has claimed that Manchester United, who want to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, “are admirers of Gray and believe he suits their blueprint of recruiting young, emerging English talent”.
Gray is one of the best young players in the Championship. He was described as “incredible” and “phenomenal” by former Leeds star Jermaine Beckford in in August 2023.

Football Transfers, though, has reported that the Red Devils are concerned that Gray, who is just 17 years of age and can play as a central midfielder or as a right-back, will snub a move to Old Trafford if they do make an offer.
That is because Manchester United and Leeds are big rivals and Gray’s family have allegiances towards the West Yorkshire club.
The 17-year-old’s father Andy Gray played for Leeds. Gray’s grandfather Frank and great-uncle Eddie also turned out for the Whites.
My View: Manchester United unlikely to be able to sign Archie Gray
In my view, Manchester United are unlikely to be able to sign Archie Gray. With Liverpool also interested in the teenager, I do not see the Leeds United midfielder making the move to Old Trafford anytime soon.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with Gray. So, the teenager has options if indeed he decides to leave Leeds.
I do not see Leeds selling the teenager in the January transfer window. After all, Daniel Farke’s side are aiming to win promotion from the Championship to the Premier League. Gray has given one assist in 22 starts and two substitute appearances in the league this season.
