Manchester United have told £80m attacker that he can leave Old Trafford in January
Ineos and co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe are gearing up for their first January transfer window in charge at Manchester United.
Ratcliffe and his freshly appointed footballing department oversaw what many believe was a successful summer window, as they spent nearly £200million as they landed big name targets such as Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte.
United also finalised some notable sales with the likes of Scott McTominay, Mason Greenwood and Aaron Wan-Bissaka sold, and whilst major spending is unlikely in January – the exit door remains firmly open and the club are hoping some big names will find their way out of Old Trafford.

Antony already looking for January options
One of those United are hoping to move on is out-favour Brazilian Antony and TBR Football understands that United haౠve already sanctioned his exit in January.
Antony had the chance to leave in the summer with the Saudi Pro League interested and also a number of clubs in Turkeꦫy.

However, the Brazilian winger wanted to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford under Erik Ten Hag – who was central to bringing him to the club ಞin 2022 when he folloꦕwed him from Ajax.
But Antony has seen his chances massively limited playing less than half-an-hour of football this season and we understand he accepts that is unlikely🙈 to chan🦄ge anytime soon.
Winger could be set for return to Ajax or Brazil
TBR Football has been told that Antony’s camp and intermediaries have been informed that he can move on in January. Unite🍌d hope that allowing early talks will help tee-up a move ah🍎ead of the window re-opening.
Whilst United, who paid Ajax more than £80million for him, would like a permanent sale they realise that Antony’s situation, including a huge contract that still has more tha🍒n two-years left to run, me🥀ans a loan is more likely.
TBR Football is told that possible moves to Saudi Arabia and Turkey are again an 𝔉option, whilst there is also the potential of a move to Qatar.
However, as it stands the most likely scenarios appear to b⛦e either a return to Brazil, where Flamengo are keen, or former club Ajax – where he remains a popular figure.
