Manchester United have discussed signing ‘fantastic’ £60m Everton player this summer

Manchester United have had a busy summer as it is and could yet consider making a move for one of Everton’s star men.

The Red Devils have already signed Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee and United are thought to be close to signing Noussair Mazraoui, as well as Matthijs de Ligt.

For Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a good first window was imperative and in the main, it has delivered.

However, there could still be movement in the window for United and if the club decide to sell a few more, then they could make a move for one of Everton’s top men.

The forward is among a number of options that have been discussed.

Taking to X to update the situation, Sheth says that any move for Calvert-Lewin will depend on United moving players on.

Calvert-Lewin to Man United ship has surely sailed?

There was a time when Dominic Calvert-Lewin was one of the most in-demand forwards around and a move to United, or even an Arsenal or Chelsea, was expected.

However, rotten injury luck over the last few years has put an end to that sort of talk and it would be a big surprise to see United go back in here.

Naturally, they might want another striker but with the likes of Zirkzee, Hojlund and Marcus Rashford on the books, it’s not exactly a huge priority.

Certainly, they won’t be paying that £60m fee Everton once wanted.

Calvert-Lewin has delivered some ‘‘ moments for Everton but ultimately, United probably need better if they are to really push on now under Erik ten Hag.
