Manchester United fans wish they moved for striker, who seals £37 move

Wissam Ben Yedder has completed a move from Spanish side Sevilla to Monaco, who are looking to improve on last season’s dismal campaign in France – but Manchester United fans wish their club had signed the striker.

United sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan on deadline day for a fee believed to be north of £70million, without signing a replacement. It is believed faith has been placed in Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and others.

Indeed, Rashford proved that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was right to place his faith in him, scoring a brace as United thrashed Chelsea by four goals to nil. But United have little cover and fans are of the belief another striker is needed.

Monaco have splashed a whopping £37million to sign Ben Yedder, who scored a huge 30 goals in 54 league and cup appearances for Sevilla last term. Indeed, he netted 18 in 35 league games.

He also scored eight goals in eight Europa League games, which may have made him a decent candidate for a move to United with the Red Devils set to participate in the lesser European competition throughout the campaign.

Manchester United fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that Ben Yedder has completed a big-money move back to his home country and to Monaco, and some believe he would have been a good signing for United.
