Manchester United: EFL Cup semi-final draw; Neymar move back on; Rojo given price
After defeating West Ham United with ease, coming back from a Hammers equaliser to win the match by four goals to one, Manchester United will face Hull City in the two legged semi-final in January. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Anthony Martial and Michael Carrick all shone in victory for United, with Bastian Schweinsteiger making his first appearance of the season from the bench.
The Red Devils have already beaten the Tigers once this season with a late Marcus Rashford securing the three points in the Premier League. Hull have struggled in the league since and needed extra-time to see off Championship side Newcastle United in their quarter-final.
The report that the club are still closely monitoring the situation of Neymar in Barcelona as they believe that his new contract is merely papering over the cracks of a long running dispute between the Brazilian and his club.
The superstar may now seek an exit as he looks to increase his wages and avoid persecution by the Spanish authorities regarding alleged corruption in his move to the Nou Camp, with Jose Mourinho keeping a close eye on things as he seeks to add firepower.
One man who may be departing the club is Argentinean defender Marcos Rojo, as the say that United have set their price tag at £16 million amid interest from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
The club paid the exact same fee to sign the left sided defender just two years ago but he has failed to impress under Louis Van Gaal or Jose Mourinho, with his Old Trafford future likely to be short lived. The 26-year-old is currently involved to cover for injuries to Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling, but Mourinho is seeking to add depth in January.
