Manchester United could try to land 44-year-old manager being tipped to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool
Liverpool might be looking for replacements for Jurgen Klopp but they could face competition from old foes Manchester United.
The Reds are planning for life without Jurgen Klopp after the German announced yesterday that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Quite who will take over from Klopp remains to be seen. There are a number of names being linked though already, with the likes of Roberto de Zerbi, Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim all getting a mention.
However, if Liverpool do want to go and De Zerbi from Brighton, then they might have to see off Manchester United to do so.
Liverpool and Manchester United both like Roberto de Zerbi
According to a report from Klopp’s departure could trigger quite the merry-go-round in the manager market this summer.
It’s claimed that Brighton boss De Zerbi is one of the names Liverpool like the look of.
However, if they do want to get him, then they’ll need to see off the likes of Manchester United, who could also turn to De Zerbi if they decide to move on from Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag’s job at Old Trafford is not immediately under threat but there is a growing feeling of pressure on the United boss.
A lot will depend on how the season pans out and where different clubs finish.
Bayern Munich are also mentioned as being one of the key players here. Thomas Tuchel could leave the club and that could trigger a domino effect.
De Zerbi ideal for Liverpool
Jamie Carragher has already deemed De Zerbi to be one of the top candidates to replace Klopp and you can see why.
The Italian has been superb since coming to the Premier League and a move to one of the very top clubs seems to be the next logical step for him.
Liverpool know they face a massive ask in replacing Klopp but in De Zerbi, he’d be as good a replacement as they might get.
