Manchester United are willing to allow Tuanzebe to return to Aston Villa next season
Manchester United are to allow Aston Villa to loan promising defender Axel Tuanzebe again next season,
Tuanzebe has already had two separate loan spells with the Midlands club and he is set for another next time around, regardless of whether Villa are in the Premier League or Championship.
United are so happy with Tuanzebe’s progress that they are willing to send him back to Villa once more, even while it is still unclear who their own manager will be next season or which league Dean Smith’s side will be in.
That’s a major boost for Villa’s transfer plans next season, coming early before the window has even opened.
It is perhaps surprising that given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s preference for younger players and United’s defensive issues, Tuanzebe is available already.
But United’s decision is Villa’s gain and what he needs is regular gametime once again, once he is over the injury problem that has kept him out since new year.
Perhaps some Villa fans feared Tuanzebe would not be sent back to Villa Park once the link with former United captain Steve Bruce had gone, but Smith looks set to benefit once more, and get a much-needed boost to a backline that has creaked at times this season.
