Manchester City’s players react on Twitter to their defeat of West Ham
Manchester City players took to social media last night to celebrate their routine FA Cup victory over fellow Premier League side West Ham.
Pep Guardiola’s team outclassed a tepid West Ham, and once Yaya Toure converted from the spot shortly after 30 minutes there was no doubt about the result of the tie.
A Havard Nordtveit own-goal, David Silva, Sergio Aguero and John Stones all followed suit and ensured that Guardiola’s first experience of FA Cup football would be one to remember for the right reasons.
It was City’s third goal-scorer, the 30-year-old Spanish midfielder, who completely stole the show though in the first ever FA Cup match to be played at London Stadium.
The Spaniard had an exceptional game, finding space in amongst a tightly-packed West Ham midfield and distributing the ball to all parts of the pitch with his sharp passing and movement.
City are now safely through into the fourth round of the FA Cup, as Pep looks to add an English title to the two German Cup trophies he won as manager of Bayern Munich.
Yaya Toure set the ball rolling in City’s demolition of West Ham, and he was one of the first players to take to Twitter to praise the side for their win.

Willy Caballero, Sergio Aguero and Pablo Zabaleta, who put in a midfield masterclass in his makeshift role alongside Toure in the heart of the pitch, also all showed their delight at progressing to the next round.

Guardiola’s side can now return their thoughts to the Premier League and the upcoming fixture at Goodison Park next Sunday, as they try to claw back the seven point deficit between themselves and leaders Chelsea.
