Manchester City tipped to complete ‘deadline day’ signing of ‘£150m’ superstar this summer

Reported Manchester City target Harry Kane has been tipped by Andros Townsend to complete a “deadline day” move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been heavily linked with a move this summer, and the Citizens are said to be planning talks with Spurs over his signature, as reported by .

Earlier this month, Kane spoke to Gary Neville on and described Kevin De Bruyne as a “special, special player” whose deliveries are “a striker’s dream”.

Unsurprisingly, the England captain’s comments have fuelled speculation linking him with a move to Eastlands at the end of the season.

Townsend believes City is the best club for Kane as they are the only Premier League club who can “guarantee” him the trophies he craves.

They would also give him the best chance of beating Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League record of 260 goals, added the Crystal Palace ace.

“Harry Kane’s done the right thing, he’s kind of sowed the seeds a week ago,” Townsend told .

“I think he’ll fully focus on England. His agent and Daniel Levy will be talking in the background, letting him focus on England and then afterwards they’ll all come together and make a decision.

“There’s only one club. Knowing Harry Kane, knowing his character, he wants that all-time Premier League scoring record, so he wants to stay in the Premier League.

“If that interview is anything to go by then he wants to win trophies. The only one club that’s guaranteed to win trophies is Man City. There’s no one better than Pep Guardiola and Man City if you want guaranteed trophies.

“It’s got deadline day written all over it! Daniel Levy is going to squeeze any penny he can out of any buying club.”

When asked how much he reckons Kane would cost, Townsend replied: “I’d say £150million.

“But knowing Daniel Levy, knowing what he did with Luka Modric, if it’s to a Premier League side he’s going to want more. Not only is it weakening his side – it’s strengthening a rival club.

“For me Kane’s worth £150million but with Daniel Levy it could be anything.”
