Manchester City star to ‘consider his options’, Arsenal have to be on red alert – TBR View
Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is reportedly set to ‘consider his options’ this summer as he struggles to get a look in under Pep Guardiola despite a long-term injury – and Arsenal have got to be on red alert ahead of a potential move.
Ake, 26, has only managed 11 appearances for Manchester City since joining Guardiola’s side for a fee of £39million from Championship outfit Bournemouth last summer. He has been limited to just 11 having been sidelined for four months.
That hamstring injury saw him managed only nine games beforehand, and two since. But those two have come in the midst of being an unused substitute in seven other games since returning from injury – remaining fourth choice.
On Tuesday night, the footballing world raved about Ruben Dias and John Stones as they starred in central defence against PSG to reach the Champions League final. The duo’s form has seen Aymeric Laporte drop out of the side.

Given Stones and Dias are first choice and first reserve Laporte is a left-footed centre-back, Ake has little chance of game time. So, it hardly comes as a surprise when Voetbal International report that he is to ‘consider his options’ in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Arsenal could do with an addition at centre-back. David Luiz looks set to leave with the Brazilian out of contract this summer while Rob Holding and Gabriel’s form has been indifferent. Pablo Mari is struggling to stay fit.
Arsenal could do with a replacement for Luiz and given that if Ake was to leave City, it would surely be a smaller figure than the one they paid for. He would be first choice at Arsenal and that has got to convince Mikel Arteta to raid his old side.
